The Faulkner golf program, under the direction of head coach Travis Lauterbach, has become a landing site for many of the top high school golfers in the south. The women’s and men’s teams enjoy the prestigious Capitol Hill site on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail as their home course, and both teams compete in some of the southeast’s best collegiate tournaments played on exquisite layouts in locales such as Hilton Head Island, S. C., and Daytona Beach, Fla. Lauterbach’s understanding of the game and his ability to transfer his knowledge to players should pay great dividends as the Faulkner golf teams battle for championships in the Southern States Athletic Conference. The men’s team has a conference championship and two trips to the NAIA national tournament under its belt, while the women continue to make strides toward winning titles.
